Reptile Lagoon

Reptile Lagoon is an indoor reptile exhibit at the South of the Border attraction in Hamer, South Carolina. Its collection focuses on crocodilians and other reptiles, with more than 15 varieties of crocodiles and related species on display. American alligators, Nile crocodiles, slender-snouted crocodiles, and endangered crocodilian species are among the animals featured. The specialized collection gives Reptile Lagoon a more focused character than a general wildlife attraction.

Custom-built pools and walkways allow visitors to view the reptiles at close range while maintaining separation between people and animals. An experienced snake and reptile handler and staff provide educational interpretation, with the exhibit designed to introduce younger visitors to reptiles and their natural history. Reptile Lagoon also supports crocodilian conservation through a portion of admission proceeds directed to the Crocodile Conservation Institute.
