Terms of Use

Last updated August 31, 2026

ZooHopper is operated by Design Lab LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("ZooHopper," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use explain what you can expect from ZooHopper and what we ask of you. ZooHopper is currently in beta, so features and these terms may change as the platform develops.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using ZooHopper, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create a ZooHopper account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Please contact support@zoohopper.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

ZooHopper Passports are currently public. There is no private Passport option at this time. Information associated with your public Passport may include your username, first name if provided, home state if provided, profile photo, destinations you have visited, visit counts, wishlist, achievements, and approved community photos. Your email address and authentication information are not displayed publicly.

3. Appropriate use of ZooHopper

ZooHopper exists to help people discover and enjoy wildlife destinations. Please use it accordingly.

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, scrape or bulk copy ZooHopper content, misrepresent yourself or another person, interfere with other members, or use ZooHopper for unlawful purposes.

Community behavior and contribution expectations are described in our Community Guidelines.

4. Destination and animal information

ZooHopper lists zoos, aquariums, safari parks, wildlife centers and similar destinations, along with information about the animals and experiences they may offer. This information is compiled from editorial research, publicly available information and community contributions.

We do not guarantee that information on ZooHopper is accurate, complete or current. Hours, admission prices, exhibits, experiences, seasonal operations, animal collections and the visibility or availability of any particular animal can change at any time.

An animal listed for a destination may not be viewable during your visit.

Always confirm important details directly with the destination before you travel, purchase tickets or make other plans.

5. Community-curated content

Parts of ZooHopper depend on contributions and activity from members, including photos, visit activity and suggested corrections.

Suggested corrections are reviewed by ZooHopper before destination or animal information is changed. Submitting a suggestion never automatically modifies ZooHopper content.

Content contributed by members reflects their own experiences and opinions, not those of ZooHopper.

6. Your content and the license you grant us

You keep ownership of the content you upload. Submitting a photo or other content to ZooHopper does not transfer your copyright to us.

By uploading or submitting content to ZooHopper, you grant ZooHopper a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, resize, crop, reposition, adapt for formatting, distribute and otherwise use that content in connection with operating, improving, promoting and marketing ZooHopper.

This includes use on destination pages, animal pages where appropriate, other areas of ZooHopper, ZooHopper social media accounts, ZooHopper emails and newsletters, and promotional or marketing materials for ZooHopper.

This license also includes a limited right to sublicense these uses to service providers that host, process or deliver ZooHopper content on our behalf.

By submitting content, you represent that:

  • you own the content or have sufficient rights and permission to submit it; and
  • the submission does not knowingly violate anyone else's copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights.

You may not submit content that is abusive, illegal, deceptive, sexually explicit, spam, stolen, infringing, harassing, or that exposes another person's private information.

ZooHopper may approve, reject, crop, resize, reposition, moderate or remove submitted content at our discretion. We are not obligated to publish anything you submit.

7. Public profiles, usernames and avatars

Usernames, avatars and other information displayed on your Passport must follow our Community Guidelines.

Do not use a username, avatar or profile content that impersonates another person, infringes another person's rights, contains sexually explicit or abusive material, promotes unlawful activity, harasses others, or exposes another person's private information.

Usernames and avatars are not necessarily reviewed before becoming publicly visible. ZooHopper may remove or reset profile content, usernames or avatars that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

8. Deleting content or your account

You can remove certain information and photos you have submitted through available ZooHopper features.

ZooHopper does not currently provide self-service account deletion. To request deletion of your account, contact support@zoohopper.com.

When content is deleted, we will stop using it in active ZooHopper features going forward and remove it from public pages within a reasonable period.

Some previously granted uses cannot be immediately undone. Material already distributed or published elsewhere, such as a social media post, newsletter or printed promotional piece, may remain in that existing material. Copies may also remain temporarily in routine backups or where retention is reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, maintain security or resolve disputes.

We will not make new promotional uses of content after it has been deleted from your account.

9. Copyright concerns

If you believe content available through ZooHopper infringes your copyright, contact copyright@zoohopper.com.

Please include enough information for us to identify and review the issue, including:

  • a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
  • the URL or location of the material on ZooHopper;
  • your name and contact information;
  • a statement explaining why you believe the use is unauthorized; and
  • any other information that may help us investigate the claim.

We will review copyright complaints and remove or restrict access to infringing material where appropriate.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines or applicable law, or when continued access creates a reasonable risk of harm to other members, ZooHopper or the service.

You may stop using ZooHopper at any time.

11. ZooHopper's intellectual property

The ZooHopper name, logo, design, editorial writing, curation, page layouts, software and other original ZooHopper materials are owned by Design Lab LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission except as allowed by law.

Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in the ZooHopper brand.

12. Independence, listings and accreditation

ZooHopper is an independent destination discovery platform.

Listing a destination does not imply sponsorship, partnership, accreditation, endorsement or affiliation between that destination and ZooHopper unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Accreditation information, including whether a destination is identified as AZA-accredited, is provided for informational purposes based on available information.

ZooHopper does not represent, speak for, or act on behalf of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums or any other accrediting organization. Accreditation status should be verified with the destination or accrediting organization when it is important to your plans.

13. Third-party websites and services

ZooHopper links to third-party websites and relies on third-party services to operate.

We do not control third-party websites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, policies or practices. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

ZooHopper is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that ZooHopper will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information available through ZooHopper will always be accurate, complete or current.

ZooHopper is currently in beta and features may change, break or become temporarily unavailable.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Design Lab LLC, ZooHopper and their owners, employees, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, travel expenses, admission costs, accommodation costs or other losses arising from your use of, inability to use, or reliance on information available through ZooHopper.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability arising out of or relating to ZooHopper will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid us during the twelve months preceding the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

16. Changes to the service and these terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue ZooHopper features, and we may update these Terms as the platform changes.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify members.

Your continued use of ZooHopper after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to ZooHopper are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

To the extent a dispute may be brought in court, you agree that it will be brought in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in New Jersey, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
