Community Guidelines

ZooHopper gets better every time someone shares a photo, corrects a detail, or logs a visit. These are the few things we ask of everyone taking part.

Be helpful and respectful

Everyone here is trying to find their next great wildlife destination. Write and share the way you'd want someone to for you: friendly, useful and considerate of other members and of the people who work at these destinations.

Share accurate information in good faith

When you suggest an edit or add details, tell us what you actually saw or can verify. A source link helps a lot. If you're not sure, say so. A maybe is more useful than a guess presented as fact.

Only upload photos you have the right to share

Upload your own photographs, or images you clearly have permission to submit.

Please don't upload photos copied from a destination's website, another photographer, social media, image search results or anywhere else unless you have the necessary rights or permission to share them.

Keep public profiles appropriate

Your username, avatar and other public profile information can be visible to other ZooHopper visitors and may not be reviewed before appearing.

Don't use usernames, avatars or profile content that impersonates someone else, contains abusive or sexually explicit material, infringes another person's rights, harasses others, promotes unlawful activity, or exposes someone else's private information.

ZooHopper may remove or reset inappropriate usernames, avatars or profile content.

Keep it clean and honest

Don't submit or post abusive, harassing, illegal, misleading, sexually explicit, spam, stolen or infringing material, and don't expose other people's private information.

Keep wildlife conversation constructive

People feel strongly about animals and about the places that care for them. Criticism and concerns are welcome when they're specific, factual and constructive. Personal attacks, harassment and pile-ons are not.

How moderation works

ZooHopper reviews community photo submissions and suggested edits before they are published or lead to changes to destination or animal information.

Usernames, avatars and other public Passport information are not necessarily reviewed before becoming visible.

We may approve, crop, resize, reposition, decline or remove submissions. We may also remove or reset profile content that violates these Guidelines.

Repeated or serious abuse can result in an account being suspended or terminated.

Full details are available in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Suggesting a correction

Found something outdated? Open the destination or animal page where you spotted it and choose "Suggest an edit."

Corrections are reviewed by the ZooHopper team before anything changes. Start from Explore to find the page you'd like to update.
