Sylvan Heights Bird Park

Sylvan Heights Bird Park is a specialized avian destination with more than 2,000 birds displayed across 28 acres of aviaries, gardens, and natural areas. Waterfowl are a particular focus, supported by conservation breeding programs for rare species, while the public collection also includes parrots, toucans, flamingos, and many other birds. Walk-through aviaries organized around different world regions make the experience especially immersive.

Guests can explore areas representing Africa, Australia, Eurasia, North America, and South America, along with tropical and multinational aviaries featuring diverse combinations of birds. The Landing Zone adds a more interactive element, allowing close encounters with parakeets, flamingos, and other species. Nature trails extend the experience into native North Carolina habitat beyond the main aviaries.
