A private conservation center focused entirely on exotic cats, offering guided walks through landscaped habitats where visitors learn about individual animals, their care, and the conservation challenges facing threatened and endangered feline species.
Panther Ridge Conservation Center is a private nonprofit facility in South Florida dedicated to providing lifelong care for exotic cats while using the animals as ambassadors for conservation education. The center is home to more than 26 cats representing ten species, including cheetahs, jaguars, leopards, clouded leopards, fishing cats, ocelots, and servals. Rather than operating as a conventional zoo, Panther Ridge presents its collection through intimate, staff-led visits focused on the individual animals and their stories.
Guided tours take visitors from one habitat to the next along outdoor walking paths, with opportunities to learn about the cats, their species, and the work involved in caring for them. More specialized experiences offer additional insight into daily keeper responsibilities and animal care, while visitors remain at a designated safe distance from the cats. The destination suits travelers particularly interested in big cats, wildlife care, and conservation education, especially those who prefer a smaller, guided setting over a traditional zoo with a broad collection of animals.
