Minocqua, WI
A large northern Wisconsin wildlife park with more than 1,700 animals representing 229 species, combining traditional zoo exhibits with giraffe and animal feeding, a walk-through budgie aviary, and a narrated safari tram through open fields.
Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari offers a broad animal collection in Minocqua, with more than 1,700 animals representing 229 species. The experience extends beyond conventional exhibit viewing through several interactive areas, including opportunities to feed giraffes and other select animals. Its combination of zoo habitats and participatory activities gives the park a varied character suited to visitors who prefer a more active wildlife outing.
A narrated safari tram travels along winding trails through open fields inhabited by animals such as eland, wildebeest, kudu, emus, and ostriches. Elsewhere, guests can enter an aviary filled with hundreds of budgies, while designated feeding opportunities include goats, sheep, deer, camels, and aoudads. An education center adds reptiles, insects, honey bees, artifacts, and other learning displays. With animal encounters, safari-style viewing, and a sizable collection, Wildwood is best approached as a substantial regional wildlife attraction rather than a compact community zoo.
