Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center

Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center combines an aquarium with a broader natural sciences collection, making it different from a conventional marine-focused aquarium. The facility displays more than 90 native and non-native species across fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals, along with more than 100 exhibits. A six-acre botanical garden extends the experience outdoors, with many plants native to the surrounding area. Its emphasis on local wildlife and natural science gives the attraction a distinctly regional character.

Inside the exhibits, visitors can encounter Oklahoma species alongside animals from other parts of the world. Highlights include alligator gar, alligator snapping turtles, river otters, piranhas, South American boa constrictors, African sulcata tortoises, and a dedicated snake exhibit featuring seven species of venomous snakes. Feeding shows and Wildlife Discovery programs add a more interactive dimension, with staff introducing visitors to animal ambassadors and discussing their adaptations and ecological roles.
