A nonprofit animal preserve providing care for more than 350 animals, with limited public access through personalized animal experiences and drive-through visits, alongside a long history of working with animals for film and television.
Hollywild Animal Preserve is a nonprofit animal preserve in Wellford that evolved from a family animal collection and zoo into a more private, care-focused operation. The preserve is home to more than 350 animals and has operated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1999. Its history includes a long association with animal talent for films, television, commercials, and special events, with animals ranging from big cats and bears to zebras, deer, camels, and other wildlife. Since 2015, the Meeks family has emphasized animal care and enrichment while limiting general public access.
Public visits are offered periodically through personalized animal experiences and drive-through access to the preserve. These opportunities provide a closer look at the animals and the setting while maintaining the preserve's primary focus on their care. Hollywild also developed glamping accommodations as part of its effort to share the property with visitors. The destination suits travelers interested in animal welfare, unusual wildlife histories, and smaller-scale sanctuary experiences rather than a conventional zoo with unrestricted daily access.
