East Idaho Aquarium

East Idaho Aquarium is a nonprofit aquarium in Idaho Falls built around interactive exploration of aquatic ecosystems from Idaho and around the world. Founded in 2013, the aquarium combines freshwater and marine exhibits with a wider collection of animals, giving the experience a broader scope than a conventional fish-focused aquarium. Its mission centers on education through interactive experiences, with a strong emphasis on allowing visitors to engage directly with animals.

Exhibits include an Idaho fish display featuring rainbow trout, sturgeon, Utah suckers, and other regional species, alongside marine habitats with sharks, rays, tropical fish, jellyfish, crabs, and eels. Visitors can also encounter birds, iguanas, bearded dragons, a porcupine, caimans, and other animals. Touch and feeding opportunities are a major part of the experience, particularly at the stingray exhibit, while additional animal encounters offer closer interactions with selected species. Its hands-on approach makes East Idaho Aquarium especially suited to travelers who prefer participatory wildlife experiences over a traditional aquarium built primarily around observation.
