Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education center in Jupiter, Florida, dedicated to protecting native wildlife and natural habitats. The sanctuary rescues sick, injured, and orphaned animals and treats more than 5,000 wildlife patients each year, with the goal of returning healthy animals to the wild whenever possible. Animals that cannot be released may remain as ambassadors for education. The sanctuary's collection represents the wildlife of Florida rather than a broad international zoo assortment.

Visitors follow nature trails through habitats where they can see animal ambassadors and participate in educational programs about Florida's ecosystems. Programs introduce guests to native species such as alligators, river otters, foxes, birds of prey, waterbirds, deer, turtles, and snakes, with interpretation focused on biology, habitat, and conservation. The sanctuary also offers guided tours, specialized animal encounters, and educational programs for schools and community groups. Its emphasis on rescue stories and native wildlife makes it particularly suited to travelers who want to understand Florida's animals while seeing the practical work involved in rehabilitation and release.
