North Myrtle Beach, SC
A 15-acre self-guided reptile zoo centered on more than 800 alligators, with wetland habitats, crocodilians, snakes, turtles, tortoises, and live animal demonstrations.
Alligator Adventure is a 15-acre self-guided reptile zoo in North Myrtle Beach built around a large wetland habitat and a collection of more than 800 alligators. The park also houses more than 230 types of animals, including crocodiles, snakes, turtles, tortoises, lizards, frogs, macaws, flamingos, owls, bobcats, mountain lions, and other wildlife. Its strongly reptile-focused collection gives the destination a more specialized character than a general zoo, while the wetland setting provides the main backdrop for viewing the alligators.
Visitors explore the exhibits at their own pace rather than following a guided tour. Live presentations are a central part of the experience, including alligator feedings, alligator handling and lectures, and snake handling demonstrations. The park is primarily outdoors, with several covered areas and smaller buildings housing reptiles and amphibians. Alligator Adventure suits travelers interested in crocodilians and other reptiles who want a focused wildlife outing built around close observation, live demonstrations, and a self-guided layout.
