Virginia Safari Park

Virginia Safari Park is a 180-acre wildlife park in Natural Bridge built around a three-mile drive-through safari. More than 1,200 animals roam freely through the park's rolling Shenandoah Valley landscape, including antelopes, bison, elk, Pere David's deer, emus, ostriches, and wildebeest. Visitors remain in their vehicles while traveling the gravel route and can feed selected animals with the park's specialty grain, creating an experience centered on observing wildlife at close range rather than moving between conventional enclosures.

The visit continues in Safari Village, a walk-through area with additional animal habitats and interactive experiences. Guests can feed giraffes from an accessible viewing platform, walk among kangaroos, enter the Budgie Adventure Aviary, visit African penguins, and interact with farm animals in the petting area. Guided wagon rides provide another way to explore the safari, while keeper chats and animal encounters add educational context about behavior, habitats, and conservation.
