Micke Grove Zoo

Micke Grove Zoo is a compact five-acre zoo in Lodi that deliberately emphasizes uniqueness and animal welfare over a large collection. More than 170 individual animals representing over 51 species are housed across mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from six continents. The zoo has a particularly strong connection to Madagascar, reflecting its conservation focus on threatened wildlife from the island and giving the collection a distinctive character despite its modest size.

Visitors can see species including black-and-white ruffed lemurs, golden lion tamarins, snow leopards, southern pudu, radiated tortoises, and golden mantella frogs. Several threatened species are part of conservation-breeding programs managed through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plans. Education programs add context through guided tours, presentations, and conservation-focused activities covering natural history, wildlife threats, and animal behavior.
