Alexandria Zoological Park

Alexandria Zoological Park combines regional wildlife with animals from several continents across themed habitats that give the zoo a clear geographic structure. Louisiana Habitat covers about 3.5 acres and recreates marsh, swamp, and upland environments with native species including alligators, bald eagles, otters, cougars, black bears, bobcats, and red wolves. Land of the Jaguar features Mayan-inspired architecture and Latin American wildlife such as jaguars, giant anteaters, caimans, ocelots, monkeys, and Andean bears. African Experience includes lions, flamingos, crested porcupines, dwarf crocodiles, and Aldabra tortoises, while Australian Walkabout features wallabies, emus, cassowaries, and kookaburras. Underwater viewing in Louisiana Habitat offers another perspective on turtles, fish, otters, and alligators.
