Auburn, AL
A university-based raptor rehabilitation and education center where scheduled presentations introduce visitors to birds of prey while showcasing the veterinary care, conservation work, and educational programs behind Auburn's resident raptors.
Auburn University Raptor Center combines raptor rehabilitation, veterinary education, conservation research, and public outreach within Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. The center cares for injured, orphaned, and ill wild raptors while using resident birds as animal ambassadors in educational programs. Its work also includes hands-on learning for veterinary and undergraduate students, giving the facility a working rehabilitation and academic character rather than the feel of a conventional zoo.
Public access is limited to scheduled presentations, where visitors can learn about birds of prey and see resident raptors used in educational programming. The center is also home to Auburn's War Eagle, whose pregame flights at Jordan-Hare Stadium connect the facility with a distinctive university tradition. Visitors interested in veterinary medicine, raptor ecology, rehabilitation, or Auburn's eagle tradition will find a focused experience built around birds of prey rather than a broad wildlife collection.
