A drive-through safari in the Arbuckle Mountains where visitors can feed free-roaming exotic animals from their vehicles, with a separate walk-through zoological area and reptile exhibit.
Arbuckle Wilderness Park is a drive-through wildlife park set across more than 200 acres in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma. Its main attraction is a safari route where exotic animals roam freely through open areas and visitors remain in their vehicles while observing and feeding the animals. The setting and vehicle-based format give the visit a different rhythm from a conventional zoo, with animals moving through the landscape rather than being viewed primarily from fixed exhibit spaces.
The park also has a walk-through zoological area and a reptile exhibit, providing additional opportunities to see wildlife outside the drive-through route. The official site describes animals from more than five continents, with the safari designed around viewing them in habitats intended to resemble their natural environments. The gravel roads include turns and uneven sections, and drivers are asked to proceed slowly and remain prepared for animals to move onto the road. Arbuckle Wilderness is particularly suited to visitors who enjoy a casual safari format and the novelty of feeding animals directly from their car.
