Alligator Alley

Alligator Alley is a swamp sanctuary in Summerdale built around a large population of rescued alligators and a self-guided walk through their wetland habitat. The farm was established in 2004 to provide a natural setting for alligators removed from places where they had become dangerous to people or property. More than 600 alligators, from hatchlings to mature adults, inhabit the swamp, giving the attraction a strongly species-focused character rather than the broad collection found at a traditional zoo.

An elevated boardwalk provides close views of the alligators as well as other wildlife that shares the swamp, including turtles, ospreys, owls, and bullfrogs. Visitors can also enter the air-conditioned gator station to hold a baby alligator under staff supervision. Live feeding demonstrations and supervised opportunities to feed the adult alligators add an interactive element, while guided field trips provide additional interpretation and hands-on learning. Alligator Alley suits travelers interested in reptiles, wetland wildlife, and close animal observation who prefer a focused, outdoor experience built around one distinctive species.
